These house rules serve to protect our visitors, our staff and the works of art. By entering the museum, visitors accept the provisions set out below.

1. Scope
These house rules apply to all visitors of the Wiener Aktionismus Museum and to all publicly accessible indoor and outdoor areas of the museum. By entering the museum, the house rules are accepted.

2. Conduct in the Museum
The museum is a place of culture, education and encounter. Visitors are required to behave in such a way that:
– other persons are neither disturbed nor endangered,
– museum objects and facilities are not damaged,
– museum operations are not impaired.

Instructions given by museum staff and security staff must be followed.

3. Protection of the Exhibits
The objects on display must not be touched, damaged or altered. Barriers and safety markings must not be crossed. Bringing in objects that could endanger works of art or facilities is prohibited.

4. Children and Duty of Supervision
Children under the age of 14 may visit the museum only when accompanied by an adult supervisor. Persons with a duty of supervision are liable for the conduct of the children or groups entrusted to them.

5. Cloakroom and Items Brought Along
Jackets, larger bags, backpacks, umbrellas and bulky items may not be taken into the exhibition rooms and must be stored in the designated locker area. No liability is accepted for the cloakroom and lockers. The storage of suitcases or larger items is generally not possible. Bringing bicycles, scooters and similar items into the museum is prohibited.

6. Photography and Filming
Photography and filming for private, non-commercial purposes is generally permitted, unless indicated otherwise.

The following are not permitted:
– flash,
– tripods,
– selfie sticks,
– commercial photography or filming without permission.

Visitors are themselves responsible for observing copyright and personality rights.

7. Eating, Drinking and Smoking
Eating and drinking are not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are prohibited throughout the museum building.

8. Animals
Animals may not be brought into the museum. Assistance dogs are exempt in accordance with the statutory provisions.

9. Safety and Security
Carrying weapons, dangerous objects or hazardous substances is prohibited. The
museum reserves the right to carry out security checks. In the event of an acoustic alarm, please contact the supervisory staff. Use of the lift is prohibited in such cases. For safety reasons, exits, stairways, passageways and escape routes must be kept clear at all times. Emergency exits are to be used only in an emergency.

10. Exclusion from Visiting
The museum reserves the right to refuse admission to persons or to ask them to leave the premises, in particular in the event of:
– violations of the house rules,
– disruption of museum operations,
– endangerment of other persons or of the collections,
– aggressive or discriminatory behaviour,
– being under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants.

In such cases there is no entitlement to a refund of the admission price. In the event of serious or repeated violations, a ban from the premises may be imposed.

11. Liability
Visitors are liable under the statutory provisions for damage caused by them. Entering the museum is at one’s own risk. The museum reserves the right to amend and adapt these house rules as required.
