THOMAS FEUERSTEIN. ARBEIT AM FLEISCH, Exhibition Views, WIENER AKTIONISMUS MUSEUM, 2025, Photos: Manuel Carreon Lopez

Thomas Feuerstein is one of the most exciting and versatile artists of his generation. In his work, he engages with science and philosophy, repeatedly exploring the boundaries of the body and identity.

The exhibition ARBEIT AM FLEISCH offers a comprehensive overview of Feuerstein’s body of work, ranging from early performances to drawings and photographs, and on to large-scale sculptures and installations.

Building on the tradition of Viennese Actionism, Feuerstein takes up central themes such as physicality and the fusion of art and life. A particular focus is on the question of how our relationship to the body is changing in a world that is increasingly digital and technologically interconnected.

Feuerstein’s works combine artistic radicalism with philosophical depth. They invite viewers to reflect on what it means to be human in the 21st century.
